What is this book about?
An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy—abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. But Special Agent Brad Wolgast, the lawman sent to track her down, is disarmed by the curiously quiet girl and risks everything to save her. As the experiment goes nightmarishly wrong, Wolgast secures her escape—but he can’t stop society’s collapse. And as Amy walks alone, across miles and decades, into a future dark with violence and despair, she is filled with the mysterious and terrifying knowledge that only she has the power to save the ruined world. What I thought
I really enjoyed this book. It was very entertaining and very well written. The imagination of the author amazes me, I can't even imagine how difficult it was to put this book together and keep it all flowing so well. There were so many characters, which was something I found difficult to keep track of. But I have to admit every character played a significant role in the story and they were quite well developed.
There were some parts that I found draggy but overall it kept me interested and I didn't want to stop reading it at all, which is quite shocking to me considering the length of the book! Really, it read like it could have been three separate novels.
I was surprised to find out that it is the first book in a trilogy. There are two more, The Twelve is out already and the third is do out in the fall.
